As for me... MAN! Life has been a whirlwind. So much has happened.

My Relationship

Oh Glory!.... It's Saturday... That special time of the week where my hair and I hang out and chill. See right now we are having relationship issues... one that I never anticipated. I thought by now we would have developed a symbiotic relationship; where I tell it what to do and it does it. :-)

Alas we have a true dictatorship. My hair is in total control. You see I can't tell it what to do; she does what she wants. If I say lay down; she says curly up. If say curl up; she says play dead. That is why our relationship is such a secret... for years we have been growing our bond behind weaves and wigs. No one really knows what she really looks like. It is not because I am ashamed, I LOVE MY HAIR with a passion. She just doesn't go out that much. Could this be why my hair never quite does what I wanted to do?

Right now after a nice wash with our trust JBCO shampoo (see review below) we are having a baggying session. Will she love me more? Or shall the battle continue? Let the games begin :-)

Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo (with Shea Butter)

Hello everyone! I am so happy to do my review on the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo. Being an avid user of Jamaican Black Castor Oil (by avid I mean; I use it on my skin and hair) I was really interested to see how a shampoo made by this company would work for my hair.

So let's talk about the ingredients. It's made up of some really wonderful stuff:
Jamaican Black Castor Oil , Pimento Oil , Lavender and Lemon Oils, Aloe Vera and Rosemary Extract, Organic Saponified Coconut, Olive and Jojoba Oils and Vegetable Gylcercine.
Contains NO: Sulfates, Parabens or Alcohol!

Based on ingredients alone: I love this stuff. Now for application. I wet my hair then applied the shampoo. The lather is incredible and it gets your hair clean in one wash. Marvelous! It feels great on your hair and makes your scalp feel clear and clean while giving your hair a nice shine and softness. It also has a nice smell.

After washing I proceeded to "t-shirt dry" and apply the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Conditioner.

Jamaican Black Castor Oil Protein Conditioner

The Jamaican Black Castor Oil Protein Conditioner is great but I have felt better :-(
I applied it to my hair and left if on for an hour. Maybe it was a little too much protein for me but it did leave my hair a little harder than it was after my shampoo. I will continue to use it... I did pay for it after all :-D

Maybe after a couple of uses it might grow on me... who knows... but I will definately let you know!

My PooBear

Now an entry about the child.
I absolutely LOOOVE my daughter. When my life feels like a bowl of crap sitting in the sun; my little bundle of joy ALWAYS makes me feel better.
I LOVE YOU!

Trials .... Some error :-)

I have been on the natural hair journey for awhile now (2-3 years maybe) and to date I have never worn my hair out. By the term 'out' I mean just the hair that grows out of my head; with no weaves, no wigs, no nothing! I get this great feeling of discomfort having my natural heir out on display. It makes me feel as though I'm naked. I think one of reasons for this is that I am not entirely pleased with my edges; they are just not as thick as the rest my hair and always the first section to 'nap up' when left out. In turn the rest of my hair when combed out looks dare I say long and nice, but give it some time and swoosh<\> I appear to have 5 inches of hair :-( I really do think I should just get over myself and embrace it all... I'm trying.... But not without a trial and some error.

The Yellow Watermelon

Tonight.... I chanced upon a very interesting piece of fruit? A yellow watermelon!

I had no idea that these things came in any other color than red. Maybe it's just me but my first thought was... "This has got to be a genetically modified food".
With this in the back of my mind; I took a bite...

Taste: Sweet... a little different from the red variety
Texture: about the same as the red (wait hold on... I have to take another bite to make sure I'm correct :-D ).... yup, its about the same lol

Until I am sure that this is not a GMO... I'm going to finish this slice, take a drink of water... and ponder slowly if i should eat the rest.

Deep Condition

SoOo I tried to deep condition tonight using a mixture of:
Mayonnaise, Egg, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Honey in a mixture that I kept in for about 15-20 minutes then rinsed.

The results: I think I smell like an omelet? The hair is shinier and softer than before I deep conditioned. Time to braid this up, slip on my satin cap and hit the sack :-) Good Night All!
